Bendix 526C Catalin Radio Green Jade Restoration

Results of Catalin Radio Restorations

This Bendix 526C Catalin radio came to our shop with the customer telling us it was a green swirl color.  After our in person inspection of the cabinet, iot had a thick, hardened patina that hid a secret underneath. After a long process of "Cutting" the patina from all surfaces, we were delighted to find a Green Jade cabinet that was simply gorgeous.

This customer will be installing a restored chassis w/WiFi and intends to use the radio daily. As part of the reassembly of the cabinet, we install an aluminized heat shield to protect the cabinet from heat issues.

The restoration results are spectacular.

The restoration is a multi-stage process from Wet/Sanding to the application of finish waxes.  This high-gloss finish is embedded in Catalin material itself.  There was not clear glossy top-coat used.  It was done the "Old School" way.
