Cord 'Zephyr' Mirror Radio Specifications

The online research information on the Cord 'Zephyr' Mirror Radio is sparse. To fill this void of information for this extremely rare antique radio, Catalin Store prepared this Section for the antique radio community.
The extreme rarity of this radio is due to two factors. When the Cord Radio Company placed the production order, it was for a short run. So in comparison to other antique radios, few of these radios were made. Secondly, this radio model is about to turn 90 years old. Because of the fragile materials used and the thin cabinet wood, many were damaged or discarded along the way.

The Cord "Zephyr" Mirror Radio was inspired by the streamlined, Art Deco designs of the Cord automobiles, particularly the Cord 810/812 series designed by Gordon Buehrig in the mid-1930s. Although it was speculated that Mr. Buehrig had a hand in the design of the Cord 'Zephyr' Mirror Radio, no such link could be found.
